According to the 1901 Irish Censes, Bernard McCauley (I) and Bernard McCauley (II) were farmers. Anne, his wife, was a seamstress, and Ellen was a dressmaker. Agnes’s occupation is listed as a domestic servant and Thomas was a coachman. Given that the family homestead was in such a rural area, my assumption is that they worked to support the nearby Florencecourt Estate, which is located approximately one mile in proximity to Newtate Road. There are no records on the estate to validate this claim, but where else would they be able to fill such specific job roles?

Florencecourt is a large 18th-century house and estate located 8 miles south-west of Enniskillen in Fermanough County Northern Ireland. It is nestled in the foothills of the Cuilcagh Mountains. The nearby village is distinguished by the one-word name Florencecourt. The first house on the site was built by John Cole. Esq. (1680-1726) as a summer home and named for his wife Florence Bourcher Wrey. The property was a local employer with enterprises including a sawmill, a woodshop, a tannery and a forge. Today the property is owned and managed by the National Trust and is the sister property of nearby Castle Coole. I have provided a link below to the Florence Court historical site as well as a Wikipedia citation that includes interesting, but not completely verified.
