Together they had ten children. There will be an initial post on each of them with subsequent posts to follow over time.
Agnes McCauley Kelly
(May 8,1883 – June 20, 1957)
Agnes McCauley was the nineth child born to Anne Kerrin and Bernard McCauley. As reported in the 1901 censes of Ireland, she lived in the “Tate” now Newtate Road and was a domestic servant. She did travel to the United States on several occasions and those trips will be shared in future posts. Agnes would come back to Fermanagh County where we believe she worked at Florence Court estate. In later years she and her mother would occupy a gatehouse on the estate. Later around 1925, she would purchase a property from the Earl of Enniskillen on Old Henry Street in Enniskillen. Agnes would marry James Kelly on February 3, 1926, in St. Micheals Church in Enniskillen. I do not have a photo of Agnes, but it is said she had fine, red hair. My Aunt Patrica McCauley Matthews reports that when she was a young girl, she would visit her extended family in the New York City area and upon seeing her the aunts would exclaim, “she has the hair of Agnes”!
